Have you ever been given a box of assorted chocolates? What if you were asked to pick just one a day? Each is so nice but you can’t have more than one on any given day. Should I go for the “Bounty”, “Snickers”, “Twix” or “Crunchie”?
They are all great in their own different way but have a flavor the other one does not have.
God created each and every one of us with our own distinct features, personalities, characters, gifts, talents and even swagger. We were all created for a specific purpose that nobody else can fill. Someone else can do the same thing you do but they can’t do it exactly the way you’ll do it because they are not you and you are not them.
We are more than just physical beings. We are creatures that have the ability to reflect God’s beauty, influence people and impact lives.
God is so creative that He made not just humans for specific purposes, He made His other creations feature different things. Just look at the mountains, the sea, the blue skies, flowing water – they don’t speak but they communicate. They communicate the creativity of God.
Sometimes, you marvel at the genius being portrayed by people. You see a young child sing with not one note out of place. You watch another dance with not one step out of sync and yet another speak with the voice of an orator that captures the ears of even the hard of hearing.
These gifts sometimes make you shudder or feel less than but I have learnt that God blesses our faithfulness in obeying what He has asked us to do and not the size or number of people we impact.
Our faithfulness to the assignment is more important than the number of people the assignment impacts. Whether we’ve been called to be the gatekeeper or the one who walks through the gate that the gatekeeper opens, we all have a part to play. Our obedience and dedication to what God has called us to do is paramount. It is so refreshing to know that God sees differently than what man sees.
Look at the peacock, the swan, the polar bear, zebra, tiger and the glass-wing butterfly. All so beautiful yet unique.
As I blog, I pray I release blessing and peace from our father in heaven.
